Authorization
string
header
required

Your Reason API key from Settings › API keys. New keys use reason_; legacy ara_ keys remain accepted. Keys are capability-scoped: run, mcp:read, mcp:write, secrets:read, secrets:write, sessions:read, sessions:debug, knowledge:read, memory:read, memory:write, skills:read, skills:write, repos:read, repos:write, reviews:read, reviews:write, deployment:read, analytics:read, org:read, org:write, attachments:read, attachments:write, guardrails:read, guardrails:write, network:read, network:write, automations:read, automations:write, agent_auth:read. network:read and network:write are opt-in, excluded from default keys. network:read reads the saved workspace network policy; network:write replaces custom allowed hosts and requires a current organization owner/admin. Legacy project PATCH requests containing network_allowed_hosts also require network:write plus their existing run scope and project management permission; saved project hosts do not affect current session egress. Only owners/admins can mint or manage keys with network:write; keys cannot grant themselves more authority. See /docs/network-policies for replacement semantics and runtime applicability. mcp:write manages MCP server configuration only; it does not authorize remote MCP-tool execution. sessions:read reads sessions, including the assistant, reasoning and tool activity in their events. sessions:debug is privileged: only for organization owners/admins, it expands session events to the full diagnostic projection (diagnostic event kinds, status text and raw event metadata).

Response

The currently running backend release.

ok
boolean
required

Always true when the replica answers.

service
string
required

Name of the backend service that answered.

Allowed value: "github-native-engineer-api"
reason_version
string
required

The Reason Agent version (X.Y) of the replica that answered: the daily release it belongs to. commit_sha is its exact build. Replicas of two releases can answer during a rolling deploy.

environment
string
required

Deployment environment name, such as production or staging; local when unset.

is_pr_environment
boolean
required

Always false: per-pull-request preview environments are retired. Kept for clients that read it.

branch
string | null
required

Source branch of the release, or null when the build does not record one.

commit_sha
string | null
required

Git commit the replica was built from, or null when unrecorded.

artifact_sha
string | null
required

Identifier of the released build artifact, or null when unrecorded.

deployment_id
string | null
required

Hosting platform deployment id, or null when unrecorded.

public_url
string | null
required

Public base URL of the replica, or null when it has none.

checked_at
string
required

When this answer was produced (ISO 8601).

hands_worker_compatibility
object
required

Hands worker admission policy: the accepted worker entrypoint, worker artifact SHA-256 digests and the CLI releases (version and worker digest) this backend accepts. Policy, not an attestation of a running worker.

session_modes
enum<string>[]
required

Session modes a create request may name. isolated is retired.

Available options:
standard,
ephemeral
workspace_ownerships
enum<string>[]
required

workspace_ownership values a create request may name. ara-managed is a deprecated spelling of managed, still accepted and listed for clients that check for it.

Available options:
managed,
externally-managed,
ara-managed
benchmark_profiles
string[]
required

Always empty: benchmark_profile is retired (400 benchmark_profile_retired). Use mode ephemeral for benchmark trials.

Allowed value: "coding-benchmark-v1"
runtime_profiles
string[]
required

Always empty: the runtime_profile field is retired (400 runtime_profile_retired). Request a runtime through experimental_runtime_profile.

Allowed value: "runtime/reason-sync-yield-v1"
experimental_runtime_profiles
enum<string>[]
required

experimental_runtime_profile values accepted for the authenticated organization. Always lists the default C2 harness, runtime/reason-c2-tools-v7, which every organization may name for compatibility; always lists runtime/reason-v7-2026-10, runtime/reason-v7-2026-11, runtime/reason-v8-2026-10, runtime/reason-v8.1-2026-10 and runtime/reason-v8.2-2026-10, dated releases every organization may name, and runtime/reason-agent-1.2, the same as runtime/reason-v8.2-2026-10 under a standalone release name, and runtime/reason-agent-1.3, its next version.

Available options:
runtime/reason-c2-tools-v7,
runtime/reason-v7-2026-10,
runtime/reason-v7-2026-11,
runtime/reason-v8-2026-10,
runtime/reason-v8.1-2026-10,
runtime/reason-v8.2-2026-10,
runtime/reason-agent-1.2,
runtime/reason-agent-1.3
experimental_runtime_features
enum<string>[]
required

experimental_runtime_features values a create request may name. A client that names features checks for them here first: a deployment that predates the field ignores it.

Available options:

sdk_index,
service_tier,
output_cap,
git_metadata,

boolean

Whether Session creates and follow-up messages accept inline attachments.
